In recent years, CFST arch bridge has been widely applied to road projects due to its advantages such as long span, light structure, beautiful shape, saving material, etc. However, a lot of problems, both occurred and potential, arise because of the complicated techniques and critical constructions of this type of bridge. For CFST arch bridge composed of thousands of steel pipes and connected through thousands of joints, the precision of welding process and the quality control of construction are very important. For the above-mentioned two aspects, the specifications make some provisions, but the specific methods how to meet the requirements need to be explored in the course of construction. Aiming at these problems, with the method of combining theory with practice, firstly the thesis describes the history of the CFST arch bridge, states the importance of CFST arch bridge in bridge construction and illuminates the necessity and significance of the research on the welding and construction quality control of the CFST arch bridge. Secondly, in line with the requirements for the construction quality of CFST arch bridge, associated with Fuhe River project, based on research on the process of material-manufactured, construction and inspection, aiming at overcoming the deficiencies occurring in the course of construction and through repeated explorations and testing, the author sums up a set of welding techniques and quality control methods. Meanwhile, a quality control assessment table has been formulated, which quantifies the quality control and improves the workability of the quality control so that it lays a foundation for perfecting the CFST arch bridge theories and can be used as reference for similar projects.
