Computer room is the major place for electric and information equipments. It is the network transmission and data processing center, placing more and more important role for the information world today. But the voltage resistance of electronic information equipments and anti-electromagnetic interference performance is relatively low. At the same time, the lightning associated with the induction of a strong electromagnetic field and over-voltage in the metal conductor, threats the normal work of electronic equipments in computer room. So, in-depth understanding of lightning induced hazards, and effectively and rationally taking protections against lightning induction for electronic information system security of computer room, is now before us of the moment.The theory and calculation about lightning have not been comprehensive so far, and there are not effective protective measures. In order to take the valid measures for the week electric devices used in communication system, power supply system, control system and network system of computer room, and assure the computer room system working properly, reduce the impact of lightning induction, we must make clear on the essential reasons and ways of electric device's damage due to lightning induction, on the basis of the analysis, we take further steps in the study of the protective technique against lightning for the electric devices, and their use, Shielding, Equipotential Bonding, Integrated Wiring and Earthing System. In this paper, based on previous research, conducts the calculation and analysis of electromagnetic environment by lightning for internal computer room. It gets that the electromagnetic environment by lightning of near lightning generally meets the requirements(less than 800A/m), but its inducted over-voltage in the loop of internal computer room is still very high, in excess equipment voltage resistance capacity. The electromagnetic environment inducted by direct lightning strike in the room is very high, and directly endanger the operation and safety. It's necessary to carry out the lightning induction protection for the room. This paper pointed out the internal lightning induction protection system composed of Shielding, Equipotential Bonding, Integrated Wiring and Earthing System, analyzed and studied it, and highlighted the fundamental and effective protection against lightning induction-Shielding technique. This paper did in-depth analysis in shielding, doing research at the shielding material selection, shielding efficiency, relative shielding efficiency and effectiveness of projects and so on. It come to the results that: the selection of steel shielding material gets better benefits in the actual engineering applications; shield mesh size between 0.5 meter to 1.5 meter works best returns, especially at the size of 1 meter.Based on the size of lightning induction hazard analysis and calculation, we can understand the possibility and extent of lightning hazards that the electronic equipment suffered in the computer room, and it provides a theoretical basis for lightning protection. By shielding efficiency studies we can get the shielding role and reasonable method for the lighting protection, reducing investments and loss.
