Helium-3 is a special cryogenic fluid which possesses important applications inthe field of cryogenic engineering, fundamental physics and space technology, etc. Inthis respect, it is meaningful to conduct research on the thermodynamic properties andtransport properties of helium-3. In the past two years, Prof. Chen and his researchteam have done great work on the thermodynamic properties of helium-3, and at thesame time, they have proposed an equation of state (EOS) for helium-3 whichpossesses a wide application range. Based on the above work, this paper hasconducted the following work on the thermodynamic properties and transportproperties of helium-3.1. Much more reference papers about helium-3 have been collected and the data, including thermodynamic property data and transport property data, have beensorted out, which makes the electronic references bank and electronic data bankmuch more plentiful and complete. At the same time, abundant data tables anddata figures have been plotted, which provides a direct-view of the trend of allkinds of properties.2. Based on abundant experimental data and basic thermodynamic principles, arevision has been made on the saturated vapor density equation, which extendsthe lower limit of temperature from 1.4 K to 2.6 mK. This work makes theresearch on saturated curve much more complete.3. Based on this work and other equations, the compressibility factor (Z) along thesaturated curve, the vaporization heat and the melting heat have been calculated.4. Based on the equation of state (EOS) and the phase equilibrium curve equations, the p-h and T-s figures of helium-3 have been plotted. The upper limit oftemperature is extended to 300 K from 20 K. And the upper limit of pressure ismuch higher. 5. The p-v-T relation of helium-3 has been predicted by using different methods ofCorresponding State Principle (CSP). And the predicted results have beencompared with those experimental data.6. A preliminary exposition of the transport properties of helium-3, related transporttheories and calculation methods has been made. Based on the experimental data,an empirical viscosity equation and an empirical thermal conductivity equationfor the liquid helium-3 under low pressure have been proposed.
