Signal buoys usually used in naval ships communication, ocean circumstance detection and navigation mark fields and so on, it's more important to reduce its weight under the premise of ensuring reliability of its structure because of its use of the special nature. According to correlation references and CB767-68, the design of domestic signal buoys is adopted by conventional design method of pressure vessel which increasing the safety factor in order to ensure structure reliability, makes the design of the buoys hull have great margin, in this paper the signal buoy designed base on the analysis method of pressure vessel and finite element analysis and optimization techniques, it have a great significance of application.Firstly, this paper studied the structure of signal buoy, the basic parts of buoy are designed and checked base on the analysis design method of pressure vessel with the same parameters are known, achieved the and established the entity's model, the stress and displacement of buoy hull and flange are analyzed using ANSYS software, and the position of buoy hull are found and reinforced, also the load capability of the buoy structure is analyzed, preparing for the following of structure optimization and reliability analysis.Secondly, the optimization mathematical model of buoy hull is established according to fundamental principle of optimal design with the object of maximum weight, then it solved by the numerical iteration method and the finite element method respective. The space between stiffening rings on cone are confirmed by sequential quadratic programming method, differential evolutionary algorithm method and the penalty function method, the parameters model of buoy hull is built and the thicknesses of cone and lid are optimized using finite element method, and optimization results are colligated and compared with initial design, and result indicate optimization design can improve stress concentration and effective decrease the weight of buoy hull.Finally, reliability analysis is carried on the optimized and reinforced buoy hull. The paper studied the processes of reliability analysis base on finite element method, and the APDL analysis file of buoy hull is wrote, and it solved by the Monte Carlo method, and the result of reliability and the important parameters which influence on structure intensity are analyzed.
