The assembly is an important link of the manufacturing process in mechanical and electrical products. It is of vital significance for the realization of assembly automation (assembly automation) to enhance production efficiency, reduce cost, guarantee product quality, especially, to reduce labor intensity or to replace manual labor under some certain conditions. Simultaneously, the realization of assembly automation is an important sign of production process automation or the factory automation (FA), and it is also an important practical content of the system engineering in the field of manufacturing engineering. In order to adapt to the dynamic change which products change as market, and to guarantee the quality uniformity of the products, the assembly automation and the flexibility will certainly be next strategic target in the production process. It is an assembly equipment of automation that automatic assembly system of lock cores for automobile locks introduced in this dissertation. The automobile locks are essential fittings of automobile. So far, the assembly of the automobile locks is carried out by manual labor, but its efficacy is low, labor intensity is huge, cost is high. In order to change this backward way of assembling the automobile locks by manual labor and to meet the need of automobile quantity developing rapidly in our country, we have developed automatic assembly system of lock cores for automobile locks for a company which produces automobile locks because the cost of manual labor becomes higher and higher. By using the system in practice, the assembly efficiency of lock cores is enhanced and production costs are reduced. The main functions of the system are to assembly springs and blades using in lock cores of automobiles after the codes of keys which are in accordance with blades are measured. The developed system includes four parts, namely, the centre of measuring the codes of keys, the centre of fixtures, the centre of assembling springs, the centre of assembling blades. The principles and designing processes of the four parts are discussed in details in the dissertation. Their solid models of three dimensions are built in the designing processes and the assembling relations are imitated by using the modeling software of SolidWorks. After the system is developed, Fault Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA) is analyzed to ensure the reliability of the system by a great deal of experiment.
