Along with the energy crisis in the past recent years and the coming of era of the high price for oil, people pay more attentions to environment and energy issues and are forced to raise the utilization rate of energy based on changing the energy structure. Fuel economy is one of the most important performance for vehicle, the method can be got to raising vehicle fuel economy by statistical analysis to passenger vehicle. Most nations in the world have taken lots of measures to restrict vehicle fuel consumption and emission meanwhile they enhance the research on fuel economy, and they're demanded highly especially after the signature of"Kyoto Protocol". It's very important to corresponding field research for our country by research and analyze other area's research fruit, because it could be used for significant reference, and our nation can make and modify corresponding policies according to these fruit, so it can speed up the research in this field. The theoretical analysis of vehicle fuel economy mainly introduces the basic index and method of fuel economy analysis and analyze influencing factors from the two viewpoints of vehicle's structure and use, including vehicle arrangement , drivers'level and road condition. It offers some methods to improving vehicle fuel economy according to practice based on those analysis. It's a significant approach for vehicle fuel economy analysis to do experimental test analysis based on theoretical analysis. It principally interprets the experimental methods and facilities of our nation's vehicle fuel economy analysis from two viewpoints of road test and bench test.It chooses proper statistical analysis method based on probing deeply into large amount of passenger vehicle's fuel consumption, then it gets the relationships between fuel consumption and influencing factors, so it supplies some significant reference for future research.
