This paper analysis the shortage of traditional method in pump impeller design when modeling and NC manufacture sculptural surface blade, according to the centrifugal pump impeller blade's hydraulic and geometric features. Then presents a new modeling method of distortion blade in according with the mathematical model of geometric modeling which is used at present. The geometric modeling process of impeller blade in centrifugal pump is achieved successfully with the help of development tool of Visual LISP and Pro/ENGINEER software, and also checked the lubricity of the surfaces of blade.After analyzing and comparing, 5-axis NC machining tools with flat end-cutter is chosen to manufacture the blade mold, the mathematic model in 5-axis double turning plat NC machine tool used to convert machining data is researched , kernel of the NC system--the Interpolation technology is also discussed.The cutter interference is the main problem faced in NC manufacture distortion blade, and flat end-cutter track without interference is a desiderating problem in actual use. This paper presents a new calculation method to determining the tool-path, when using flat end-cutter to manufacture sculptural surface, and points the judge criterion and the eliminate rules of cutter interference, which includes curvature interference and bottleneck interference.The tool-path data can be converted into NC program by post-processing system. And computer dynamic simulation of the 5-axis NC manufacture blade process is achieved.
