| Reactive Powder Concrete (RPC) is one of new concrete materials. Comparing with conventional concrete, it owns many properties such as ultra-high strength, high toughness, high durability etc. Some existed structures constructed with this kind of material have proved these properties and its application value. However, RPC's manufacturing technologies and mechanical behaviors aren't perfect and need further researches. In this paper, RPC's mechanical behaviors and applications in highway engineering have been studied on the base of past researches.1. With RPC manufactured with local materials, The influences of water gel ratio, silica powder's filling, steel fiber's filling, super plasticizer's filling on its mechanical behaviors were studied by experiments.2. The optimum mixture ratio has been given. Furthermore, RPC's prism compressive strength, static elastic module were investigated with experimental methods and their values were given.3. Based on optimum mixture ratio of RPC, the flexural experiments of RPC beams and reinforced RPC beams were implemented. According to obtained load-deflection curves, the failure procedures of RPC beams and reinforced RPC beams were analyzed. Furthermore, the calculation method of flexural capacity for reinforced RPC beams was studied, and the calculation formula was presented. These provided theoretical basis to application of RPC into highway safety guards.4. Through the project example, has proven RPC in the path and in the bridge building application prospect. |
