The Research On The Integrated Design For Urban Public Space

Urban public space is the main component of the city, not only provides public life space for people, but also composes one of the important elements to constitute the city form. The fast changing modern city construction break the city's original structure and texture; the diversified city life accelerate the people's demand for the form and functions of the urban space; and the rapid development of the modern traffic also accelerate the changes of the original layout of the urban space. Our urban spaces have to face diversified upgrading and development. This paper try to search for the continuity and organic of the urban space in such a complex situation.In order to study the integration of urban public space we make the urban public space as a system. By study on our modern public spaces to analysis the relationship between the elements of urban space and the relationship between urban space system and other city elements. Use integration as the way to collate and coordinate such spatial relations, so as to promote modern urban public space to be more organic and continuity, and to make the people's action in the public life have continuity and diversity.The integration of the urban space is not to advocate that the existing structure of urban public space have a big overhaul design, but a feasibility improving of the spatial relationship in the respect of the original urban spatial structure and texture. By using integration methods such as interpenetration,link,connection,composition,catalysis and by use spatial or environmental design method to make organic link in various forms of urban public space;and in urban public space, urban constructions, transportation and landscape;and also in urban public space and the city's historical context. The purpose of integration is to make our urban public space continuity, organic, humanized and have city context.In this paper, the analysis on the integration of foreign and domestic public spaces, especially the investigation of the public spaces in Guangzhou,Shenzhen, and Changsha integrate theory with practice, and also reflects the effectiveness and prospect of the integration theory.
