| Modes combination is the key problem of wind response analysis, the selection of SRSS or CQC combination procedure will determine the accuracy of wind response analysis. So, how to select modes combination is worth studying in wind response. The main contents in this paper are shown as following:(1) The advantages and disadvantages of SRSS or CQC combination procedure, the modes coupling and the index of combination procedure are proposed.(2) A new index of mode coupling effects, i.e. the index of frequency ratio, is put forward in this paper. Also a new concept of guarantee rate is brought forward in this new method, which is more meaningful then the one in the Code of Seismic Design of Highway Bridges (draft).(3) A concrete step of combination is presented, and two engineering examples for the Olympic Tennis Center and King Key Financial Center are used to testing the new method. |
