The design and evaluation of traffic facilities must be combined with activity-based theory, and also the design and facilities allocation of a railway transit hub must be convenient and humanist to accord with travel behavior of different passenger. Firstly, the paper reviews the research of travel behavior and analyzes the characteristics of passenger flows especially the one in the railway transit hub. On the base of this, the paper describes the theory basis and the present research situation of the individual, and points out that step size, step frequence and walking speed are the core of the individual behavior of passenger. Then, according to the data requirement of step size, step frequence, walking speed, personal space requirement and the way to go out of the station, it designs the innvestigation obsered by video technique and manual.Thirdly, it analyzes the characteristics of passenger for different facilities and the same facility of different position, and comes to the conclusion that the walking speed of passenger accord with normal distribution. Based on this, it builds passenger individual models which are the relationship between step size and walking speed, step frequence and walking speed, step size and step frequence for walkway and stairway.Forthly, it builds passenger models for walkway, downward stairway and upward stairway which illustrate passenger walking speed and space requirement relationships using statistical method based on the collected data at different types of passenger facilities in the railway transit hub. These models are compared with previous research findings. It shows passenger flow presents specific traffic characteristic in the railway transit hub environment. At last, it analyzes the factors which influence passengers in and out of the station, and proposes the thoughts of quantification methods. On this basis, it builds utility function and Logit model for passengers in and out of the station. And then, it use the method of stepwise regression analysis to calibrate parameters, and the example shows that the model is practicable. The results show that the behaviors of passengers in the railway transit hub are different from other situations and the models have been built can reflect realistically the characteristics of passengers in the railway transit hub.
