With the rapid development of electric power semiconductor technology especially full controlled electronic devices and the application of Pulse width modulation technology, VSC-HVDC which takes VSC and PWM as the foundation becomes research hot spot, because it has many advantages which the tradition HVDC not, such as supplying power to passive electrical network, flexible control modes, independent active and reactive power control etc.Firstly, the basic principle of converter is described, a mathematic model of converter in the d-q axis synchronous rotating reference frame is proposed. Secondly the controller of independent active reactive power control is designed. MATLAB simulation of VSC-HVDC is established. The control methods of VSC-HVDC are simulated and analyzed. Thirdly hardware of VSC-HVDC is designed which takes DSP as its computing core,software system is made, the modle experiment is made,and experimental results are also given and analyzed, the rusults prove the control method.My study provides references for practice application.
