The existing statistics indicates: vacuum circuit-breaker's reliability depends on its mechanical operation system's reliability. This requests carrying on mechanical characteristics test measurement for vacuum circuit-breaker and finding out its working condition in time so as to ensure a reliably running. There are many deficiencies in current measuring methods of vacuum circuit-breaker's stroke parameter, this paper proposes a new non-contact measuring method by using computer vision technology, which takes computer as the data processing and control's core, develops software to control image acquisition,image processing and analysis, and finally realizes a fast and accurate measurement for stroke parameter. This paper designees the whole system's general planning firstly, then studies the algorithms of both camera calibration and measuring method based on pattern recognition, and proves the accuracy of this proposed measuring method through experiments finally.
