Being the primary structures of the expressway in China, Asphalt pavement's rutting phenomenon has been more and more serious with the rapid increasing of the traffic, axle load and the degree of the channeled traffic, and it has been the major early damage of the asphalt pavement. The formation of rutting will have a serious impact on the comfort and safety of driving, and it also reduces the life of the road. How to calculate and estimate the rutting accurately has great practical significance.This paper depends on the project"Research on the calculation and forecasts of expressway asphalt pavement rutting based on dynamic role of the lane."This article's main content includes: the mechanism of the rutting of asphalt pavement and the impact factors on the trend of the rut; the relation between surface roughness and rutting; the study of the simulation of the road roughness; the study of dynamic load models of pavement all levels; the realization of FEM (Finite Element Method) rutting calculation.With full using of the results from existing studies, signed out that the dynamic load and the mixture of visco-elastic-plastic mechanical properties are the main reason for rut. The smoothness of the road is one of the main reasons causing vehicle's vibration, which affect the size of the traffic load directly and affect the formation of asphalt pavement rutting indirectly. Through the test of the road roughness of High-grade asphalt pavement in Chongqing areas, establish the frequency domain and time domain model of roughness, and simulate the measured surface roughness with the method of simulation road smoothness based on international roughness index, and get the real roughness of road conditions. Coupled the road and car model which established by CAE software ADAMS, get the discrete stochastic dynamic load causing by the vehicle, and on this basis, give full consideration to actual load of the road and the intermittent between cars, give the typical dynamic load models of different levels road. With dynamic finite element theory and asphalt mixture visco-elastic theory, with the help of finite element software ANSYS, establish two-dimensional surface finite model of the structure, considering the nonlinear material models and dynamic load, and calculate the finite element rut of the Han-Chang road, and compared with the measured results indicate that the rutting prediction method which based on the time domain model of roughness and the dynamic load coupled between the road and vehicles to is reasonable and practicable.
