As an important part of bridge structure, the basic concept, characteristic and the development of usage of deck pavement in domestic and foreign country have been elaborated in this thesis. Integrated with the problems which have encountered in the deck pavement in recent years, its stress characteristics are discussed in detail.The inner strain of cement concrete deck and asphalt concrete pavement is very difficult to measure through experiment because of several restricts. In this thesis the inner strain distribution of asphalt pavement is measured under normal operating conditions with the method of resistance strain gauge. First of all, two types of specimen C30+AC-13I and AC-20I+AC-13I are chosen, and gradation design of AC-13I and AC-20I is constructed respectively. And then, the modulus of this two gradation are attained through the creep test,. Secondly, the inner strains of two types of specimen under static-load and dynamic-load are measured by use of strain gauge, and the relevant stress is calculated through modulus. Based on the analysis of test data, a series of conclusion have been drawn. At last, suggestions are put forward for the further research of the inner strain and stress of cement concrete deck and asphalt concrete pavement.Study of numerical simulations for the experiment is also made in this thesis, concluding how the horizontal loading, overload and modulus of tack coat affect the pavement. And according to theoretical calculation, the value range of pavement thickness is attained.
