Combining with 300 thousand DWT crude oil terminal project in Dalian new port pile-gravity type complex structure and jacket platform structure is researched. Mechanical behavior, construction characteristic, design work and method of complex structure and jacket platform structure is presented. Key technologies in design are discussed. Computation of complex structure includes structure's stability, foundation bed stress, ground bearing capacity, pile bearing capacity and bearing capacity of joint connecting pile and caisson. Key technologies of complex structure contains definiting of caisson heignt, computation of wave force, design of joint, analysis of pile bearing capacity, structure's dynamic response and reliability. Computation of jacket platform structure includes member's strength, member's stability, socketed length and bearing capacity of rock-socketed pile, static strength and fatigue life of tubular joints. Key technologies of jacket platform structure contains selecting of geometrical shape, definiting of pile size, computation of wave force, fatigue life of tubular joints considering ship effect, structure's dynamic response and reliability. Combining with the real project the structure proposal that can be used in open style wharf wheere depth of water is larger than 25m is advanced. Structure computation and comparison of the complex structure with gravity caisson structure was made. It concludes that compared with the gravity circular caisson pile-gravity type complex structure and jacket platform structure is more economical, and in China employing complex structure in open style offshore deep-water wharf is safe, feasible and economical. key issues and measures that should be adopted in designing similar structures are summarized. The problems and the future development of this structure type were also discussed. Achievements from the study can guide the design of open style wharf.New wharf structure type studied in the paper can be extensively applied into large open style wharf in stead of gravity type caisson berth and long pile wharf. The new structure type is propitious for further expansion of port construction and can enhance economic performance obviously.
