The industry scale's expansion leads to higher demand of large-scale electrical motor. Meanwhile, the promotion of electrical motor's capacity may enhance its efficiency. Therefore, the research and production of electrical motor with larger scale becomes one of the development trends of electrical motor.As an important component of electrical motor, the cooling system guarantees that the electrical motor works within the permission temperature rise scope. It has important meaning to the efficiency and security of electrical motor. While the capacity of electrical motor is rising, more heat is produced, and overheat problem becomes remarkable. Therefore the requirement of cooling system becomes higher. The promotion of cooling performance has obtained increasingly attention.Particularly for air-cooling method, this paper refers to the production of electrical motor, designs the model of electrical motor, and works out the wind tunnel experiment plan. The experiment rig of airflow distribution research was built according to GB/T 1236-2000. Experiment measurement has been carried out on different outlets, and the experimental data is processed. Through the experiment with different fan position, tip clearance and section plane of guide structural, fan characterize and airflow distribution change are analyzed, so as to provide the basis for the structural design optimization of electrical motor. Finally, this paper has made the summery to the airflow distribution research at the outlet of cooling fan, and gives suggestion for further cooling system research of electrical motor using fans.
