High intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) is one of the promising results in non-invasive thermal ablation techniques of tumor in recent years. Since ultrasound can penetrate into soft tissues, HIFU is a method of focusing ultrasound waves(intensity of hundreds or thousands W/cm~2) on a particular area, inducing sharp increase in temperature (above 60℃).This heat can be used to create lesions and tissue death due to coagulative necrosis and the surrounding tissues do not be damaged. The HIFU therapy system is a integrated system which including automatic, mechanical, medical image processing, computer and biomedical reaction techniques. It consists of several main components: a computer analysis and control system, a HIFU applicator, power amplifier and transition, fluidic and driving hydraulics. The current development status of HIFU system has been analyzed and current question existed in computer control system has been put forward based on the reading of a large number of references. The HIFU system needs high intensity and instantaneous, While the tumor is in therapy, huge damage will happen to normal tissue if the control is not precise. So, the study emphasis of the dissertation is focused on how to improve the ability of real-time control. The main contents are as follows:1. Analyze the current development status of HIFU system, and current questions existed in computer control system. In this paper, a micro-controller Atmega128 based subsystem is developed to control subordinate system and cooperation with server.2. The communication protocol of principal and subordinate computer system has been analyzed in detail. Through designing particular control protocol, high control precision and high real-time system can be acquired.3. Made the function test and performance analysis.
