Traffic congestion is becoming one of the most serious problems in Chinese urbans. The urban transit is firstly studied to solve this problem. Therefore, on the basis of the characteristics of Chinese urbans, rapid urban transit system is put forward. The factors affecting passengers choosing the path to travel are analyzed. The generalized cost model and the path optimization model of rapid urban transit system are studied. The main content of this dissertation includes:1. Based on discussing of urban transit, a rapid urban transit system is put forward and analysed deeply.2. The factors affecting passengers choosing the path to travel are studied in quantitative analysis and qualitative analysis. Meanwhile, the most important factors as the ingredient of the generalized cost model or the constrained conditions of the path optimization model are chosen.3. Both rapid urban transit network and generalized cost model are structured. At the same time, the calculation methods of some kinds of costs and dimension changing are put forward.4. After analyzing the characteristics of the rapid urban transit network, a path optimization model of the rapid urban transit system is constructed. Then an arithmetic of solving this problem is designed.Finally, a numerical example is taken to validate the rationality and feasibility of the theoretics and method.
