Double-tower-connected structures is a structure system of tall buildings, which is formed by two towers standing alone that are joined by connected-structure installed some fixed height. The characteristic of loading of the whole structure is different from the individual tower because of the connection's coordination. At present, the research on the performance under the static loads is not in-depth, especially the research on the dynamical property. The paper makes a more systemic deep and full research on the double-tower-connected structures based on the example of engineering, which applies the famous software-SATWE, EPDA and EPSA of PKPM. The research consists of several parts which are listed below.1. By computing and analyzing double-tower-connected structure as compared with non-connected structure, it comes a conclusion that it must consider the influence of higher vibration modes and coupling torque once double-tower-structure is installed the connection. When it meets with frequent earthquakes, the connection can coordinate deformation and loading of two towers. The whole structure is safe because earthquake forces are offset between two towers. On the contrary, that is, when it meets with rare earthquakes, double-tower-connected structure responds actively to the earthquake force. The phenomenon should be paid attention to.2. The pattern of connection between the connection and double-tower of rein-forced concrete has influences on the loading of the structure. It indicates that, because towers of rein-forced concrete has greater stiffness than the connection, the pattern of connection has little impact on the whole structure, but great impact on the specific members. We should attach importance to the design of connection part and key members next to it. The paper suggests that similar structures uses pin joint-pin joint connected mode.3. There is some rules about the influence of the position of connection on the double-tower-connected structure. The seismic response force is max value in one tower and the other's is smaller where the connection is. We should consider the indefinite characteristic of direction of earthquake force. We also should consider all kinds of factors such as responds, loading and ductility and so on. In general, the connection should be laid at 4/10-6/10 height of towers, because it has smallest force and response.In the end, I conclude the research and arrive some conclusion. Then I oppose some questions requested solution.
