With the rapid development of economy in our country, the traffic volume is increasing day by day. Bridge widening and reconstruction project will become a hot spot in the future decades. Based on the Hohhot to Baotou section of a highway in the Small East River Bridge modified expansion project, the widening project of the typical bridge of box beam and T beam is also selected, using MIDAS/Civil and the principle of grillage method, by changing the connection stiffness parameter method, to optimize the design of the transverse connection of bridge superstructure-diaphragm plate connection and wet seam joining. The internal force characteristics of the different forms of the upper structure under the same conditionare compared and analyzed. At the same time,the influence of the foundation differential settlement on the upper structure of simply supported beam bridge is also explored.(1) When consistent splicing, adjacent to the main beam splice conditions differ mainly on the structure of the junction, and internal forces under the influence of different parameters variable junction of the main beam.(2) When the old bridge of the crossbeam splicing, whether cross-stitching program has transverse bulkheads, there are significant differences on the force effect of the upper structure. When the same parameter variable effect, plate girder, box girder force characteristics of the crossbeam stitching program coincides same, and there are some differences in T beam. The most reasonable of hollow slab beam and box girder splicing form is:in the fulcrum add diaphragm, the flange is not connected. The most reasonable of the T beam splicing form is:in the fulcrum, L/4 and cross add diaphragm, the flange is not connected.(3) When the bridge is connected by the wet seam joining, the main beam of each bridge is under the action of a single variable, the internal force of the main beam has a common influence. Wet joint concrete strength has little effect on the internal forces and displacement structure. Generally, the overall characteristics of the wet joint stitching scheme of different structural forms are very little. The optimal values of various parameters of the wet seam joining of hollow plate girder and box girder and T beam are very different. When different types of bridges by using this method, please consider cross-sectional properties of the bridge, bridge span length, the width of the deck and other aspects, so that the design of a concrete analysis of concrete problems.(4)From the aspects of load transverse distribution, internal force, displacement and dynamic characteristics,4 kinds of connection forms is compared by the influence on the overall performance of the bridge, get wet joint stitching way than the other way is more reasonable.(5) By comparing the classification settlement and its corresponding maximum internal force of the main beam, the settlement difference between of the simple supported beam bridge and the maximum internal force of the upper structure is linear.The differential settlement mainly affects the stress characteristics of joint and boundary girders near this joint,most of the internal force appears on these two pieces of beam.The adjacent girders near junction undertake the influence of slab bridge produced by the difference of sedimentation and connection condition.Therefore, the design of the connection of the upper structure is very important for the durability of the structure.
