After rising speed of railway in our country, the fatigue problem happened in the wagon weld structure is increasingly which is discussed in the first part of thesis. Once the crack happened it will be graveness results to the running safe.Wagon body is a complicated weld structure. While physical wagon can not used to do fatigue test, how to make anti-fatigue design has been discussed in this paper. One coal hopper wagon has been taken as an example to study about anti-fatigue design of the wagon.First of all, based on finite element technique and the theory about how to predict fatigue life of weld structure, the technology route and key technique are given as well, which is based on AAR standard about weld structure wagon fatigue life predicted.The coal hopper wagon is taken as an investigated subject. Using the software I-DEAS finite element model is obtained from its geometrical model. In this way, the results of analysis of the static strength, stiffness and modal for the empty car and load car are obtained. At the same time, the detailed results of the static strength of this wagon are given in this paper. Comparing the results of the two ways the reliability of the numerical calculation is proven as well as the rationality and advantage of design.Finally, using results from finite element analysis and load spectrum of C80 open wagon coupler, the Coal Hopper Wagon's fatigue life is obtained. According to the result of finite element analysis and proportion relationship between dynamic static load and static load stress spectrum of fatigue predicted position are calculated. Importing the stress into fatigue life predicted software which is based on AAR standard, then obtain the empty car body and loaded car body fatigue life.
