In recent years, with the improvement of people's live, motor vehicle develops rapidlyand its trail-gas has caused serious air pollution. Some cities have enacted laws andregulations to restrict the use of motorcycle and fuel-aid-vehicle to protect the environment.Therefore, it is an important subject to develop the green vehicle. As Electric vehicle has thefeatures of portability, non-pollution, low-noise and low prices, it becomes an ideal vehicle.Switched Reluctance Motor (SRM) has simple structure, flexible control and high reliability.It can work efficiently within a relatively wide range of speed. SRM also has firm and durablestructure. It suits for the application under adverse conditions. All of these characteristicsdetermine that SRM is fit for the control motor of vehicle.The paper mainly researches on the application of the Switched Reluctance Drive (SRD)System with four phase 8/6 pole in control of the Electric vehicle. It aims at designing thecontroller of electric vehicle based on AVR MCU.Firstly, according to SRM's structure and principle of operation, it establishes SRM'smathematical model, analyzes and determines the method of detecting the signal of SRMposition and the control strategy used in the system: using speed outer-loop and the currentinner-loop double-closed-loop and controlling the current indirectly through regulating PWMchopper control. The PWM is generated by timer T/C2 of the AVR MCU.Secondly, on the basis of the characteristics of AVR MCU, it designs the externalcircuits and also designs SRD's hardware circuit in particular. It contains power voltageconversion circuit, voltage sampling circuit, power circuit of the system, MOSFET drivencircuit, detecting circuit of position signal and the Measuring and protecting current circuit.Furthermore, it designs the system software based on the hardware circuit and enhancesthe function of Electric Vehicle's brake, overcurrent protection, undervoltage protection andConstant Speed Cruising.Finally, it practically operates and debugs the automatic design system. The results ofspeed curve and the current waveform obtained from the experiment indicate that thecontroller is feasible...
