There will be many non-stable factors appearing when vehicle brakes urgently, for example skidding, off tracking and steering ability losing. Traffic accident is induced by these factors. Non-stable factors are generated by the locked wheels. These non-stable factors can be avoided by Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) during braking, braking distance can be shorten also, and the safety braking can be guaranteed.In this thesis, the intention and meaning of the theme are presented first. The domestic and overseas development of ABS are introduced respectively. The operating principle of ABS controller is discussed detailedly and its basic structure and characteristics are represented. A series of available control methods are introduced in the light of the features of ABS. However, after analyse and compare the logical threshold control algorithm is applied to the system control software in this thesis. The structure and function of hardware are introduced briefly. The performance of XC164CS as the controller core is presented. After that, the rationale and the whole control strategy of the logical threshold control algorithm are given separately. The single wheel simulation model of ABS which makes use of the logical threshold control algorithm is established. The model is simulated in MATLAB/SIMULATION environment. The exactitude and feasibility of this scheme is proved by the simulating results. The programmes based on the logical threshold control algorithm are designed. The modular designing ideas and function of the software are introduced and the flow charts are presented. The combining algorithm is put forward in testing the wheel speed and is proved that it has the wide range and high precision acquisition ability according to the experiment. The portability and flexibility is increased by the modular programming of this software. The finished software is the foundation of ABS controller application.
