At present time, a great deal of work has been done for flexibility pavement of thereinforced concrete bridge in the fields of numerical simulation, material application, interlaybonding and damp-proof and so on. Although some research productions have been gainedalready, there is still a gap between them and the practice research productions, and as a result,the bridge deck overlay is mostly designed just according to the actual experience. For thisreason, this paper analyzed the load case of bridge deck overlay during the driving, andsimulated the stress of bridge deck overlay by indoor test with the purpose of offeringreference for actual engineering projects.In the beginning, the paper introduces the function and structure forms of bridge deckoverlay systematically as well as application studies on that in domestic and in the world.Based on that, failure types are classified in consideration of actual inquisitional information,and then reasons of breakage are analyzed in point of material, construction, design andenvironment etc.Secondly, in order to obtain breakage of bridge deck overlay caused by load, the loadaction on that is analyzed for different braking case, and the most disadvantage braking caseis generalize whom is selected as simulation object and as the slant foundation of test device.Then, three test cases are determined for different stress location. The test piece is alsonumerated with each case for the sake of analyzing the breakage location of samples anddetermining the survey point location.The part of indoor test is divided into several sub-phases to be introduced systematicallysuch as material choosing, graduation designing, sample structure, sample modeling, tack coatmaterial and the craft, the parameters of skew sheafing experiment and test equipment and soforth. Here, the strain response, accumulated strain and interstratified strain are analyzed andclassed respectively. At last, the cause of sample breakage and the errors of test model arediscussed simply.Tack coat is the weakest location of bridge deck overlay according the breakagephenomenon and the strain variation, and the strain where survey points is near to the tackcoat could reflect the performance of tack coat in load passing, stress absorption anddeformation coordination.
