The Application Research On The Modified SMA Mixture In Jiangxi Expressway

Stone Mastic Asphalt (SMA) is a new remarkable asphalt mixture pattern in recent years. It is famous for the high skid-resisting, rut-resisting capability and resisting to rupture in low temperature. Its fundamental characteristic is the gap gradation compact structure of built-in and extruding, which includes coarse aggregate engender skeleton, fine aggregate, fine ore and binding agent which come into being aplenty asphalt mastic to filling the gap frame.This paper combined with superpave technique and SMA mixture proportion experimental methods to design target proportion by the rotation compacting instrument to demonstrate the design method's advantages through drawing on the nation research results and the comparison between the traditional Marshall design method and rotation compacting design method. In roller compaction technology, this research carried a detailed exploration about temperature drop discipline of SMA in different temperature, different construction thickness and different wind speed and paving temperature field in different climatic condition, built the relationship of temperature, climatic condition and compacting effect, brought forward the effective compacting time to control the compacting. This method is more effective, more reliable than the traditional method, and provides the theoretic foundation to solving the roller compaction problems of modified asphalt road. Finally it applied the modified SMA to Jingfu high speed test road, and took sampling inspection of technological index such as compaction degree, air void ect..
