Howitzer mortar is recognized by many countries at all times for fitting multi-missions of army campaign with all kinds of conditions. Because howitzer mortar not only launches mortar shell but also launches howitzer shell, the research of launce process about howitzer mortar launching different shells is very important for its structure design. This paper includes several points as follows:(1) The classical interior ballistic model of howitzer mortar was established and calculated. The effects of basic propellant, assistant propellant, leak areas and assistant chamber volume to interior ballistic property were analyzed.(2) The one-dimension two-phase flow model of process that howitzer mortar launching mortar shell was established and calculated. The double one-dimension two-phase flow model was also established, and the all process from mortar shell begin to move to exit the barrel was calculated.(3) The one-dimension two-phase flow model of howitzer mortar launches howitzer shell was established. The effects of different igniter length to pressure wave were analyzed.
