With the development of the world, the competition of product market is intense day by day, the product system is more and more complex, the competition advance decided to who can first discover the innovation spot of product system. In order to achieve this goal, an effective method is the product system function will subdivides, but at present the research which for constitutes the product system functions is not very mature, Therefore, conducts the thorough research to the product system functions, has very important theory significance and the practical significance.The purpose of this thesis is studying for explores a method which would be used on product design. Using this method could help designers to determine the goal of product system design, and forecast the product system which would be more competitive.The thesis describe the product system and it's basic pattern, the analysis product system design goal and the step. Has made the exhaustive elaboration in view of the product system demand investigation and the demand analysis, has determined the goal of product system design.Then with the researching on analysis of the product system function factors, has indicated the system various functions essential factor with the abstract independent concept.Establish the product system longitudinal function tree and product system transverse function tree, forecasts the development of products system. Enables the product system the design effect to achieve, has advanced a new method on design of product system, the method is named Tree of Function.Above the synthesis research, my expectation is this research will be able to using in product design, the theory can be more an more consummation as well.
