The R&D A Intelligent Terminal For Vehicle Based On Embedded ARM

With the development of computer technology, embedded system has been become of the important part of the computer field, and also it becomes the research focus. With the prominent feature, such as small size,powerful performance,lower power dissipation,high reliability and special purpose, embedded system is widely used in national defense,consume electronic,networking communication, industry control field and so on.In this paper, we discuss the issues refer to R&D the intelligent terminal which is based on ARM for vehicle. It uses S3C2410X as the embedded CPU while uses Windows CE as the operating system. We achieve some useful functions such as GPS-based vehicle navigation,MC35i based wireless internet access and GPS&SMS based intelligent alarm.Firstly we described the embedded system include ARM embedded microprocessor and embedded operating system. Also we focus on the UNICODE character set and developing the BootLoader programs. Then we introduce its functions in details, it includes three parts as follows:1. Vehicle navigation:It consists of ground-based GPS receiver and antenna. ground-based GPS receiver is used to receive positioning data, and then the data is passed to embedded system by computer serial, finally the system starts a data-extract program to extract positioning information, such as longitude,latitude and time etc. Electronic map can then reads this data, transform it and display it in electronic map.2. Wireless Internet access;This system uses MC35i as wireless communication module, by designing hardware circuits and coding dial-up routine, we finally completed the wireless internet access function.3. Intelligent alarm: The intelligence alarm system which based on GPS and GSM. By employing it the owner can get it position information wherever he is, so he can judge whether it is safe, so that he can take corresponding measures. All of this enhances the safety of the vehicle greatly.Finally we made a conclusion of the functions we had achieved, and also we list some functions need to be improvement or improved.
