It is one of main methods to add energy-containing materials to solid propellant to increase energy as solid propellant develops towards high-energization. But the adding of high energy oxidizers (mainly HMX and RDX) causes the adhesion between solid filler and the binders weaken, which adversely affects mechanical properties, combustion properties and storage properties of propellant. Particularly dewetting phenomenon will happen when propellant is under certain stress. That is solid propellant breaks free from the surface of the binders. One of effective methods to solve the problem is to add appropriate bonding agent to propellant. One monomer which can also be used as bonding agent and ten macromolecule bonding agents of three series have been synthesized. After being proved compatible with all components of propellant through compatibility experiments, the bonding agents are used in a certain NEPE propellant and are made into flans to test their mechanical properties. The result shows that six of them greatly improve the maximum tensile strength of propellant at room temperature and three of them greatly improve the maximum tensile strength of the propellant at low and high temperature. It is suggested that further study should be done to improve maximum and fraction elongation ratio.
