The energy density of the high-energy four groups(Al/RDX/AP/HTPB)hydroxyl terminated propellant is significantly higher than other high-energy propellants, but the cost is significantly lower than other high-energy propellants, thus it has broad application prospect in the solid rocket. However, such kind of propellants can easily arise"dewetting"in the process of use and the mechanical properties can not meet the request. Therefore, the solid particles and adhesive bonding is an effective split screen composite solid propellant to achieve good mechanical properties of the necessary conditions. It is shown that in the propellant formulation by adding the very few to a few thousandths of a bonding agent, can effectively improve the mechanical properties of propellants.The LAB series bonding agents and the hydantoin and triazine series bonding agent can effectively raise the mechanical properties of the high-energy four groups HTPB propellant when complexing with MAPO, but they can not meet the require-ments of the engine use. The purpose of this study is developing efficient new borate ester bonding agents to meet the developing needs of the state's key model weapons.A series of diethanolamine derivatives were synthesized and analyzed by the use of elementary analysis, IR, GC-MS,the main factors influencing the reactions were studied and the optimal reaction conditions were determined. As a result, under the condition of the materials ratio 1:1.5, the temperature 80℃and reaction time equaling 50 min, the productive rate could achieve 99.7%.Using diethanolamine and its derivatives as raw materials, a series of new borate ester bonding agents were synthesized, the main factors influencing the reactions were studied and the optimal reaction conditions were determined, As a result, the dehydrating agent is toluene, the amount of 25 ml the temperature 80℃and reaction time equaling 6 h, the productive rate could achieve 58.7%. The properties of these products, amine value, hydroxyl value,PH, moisture and appearance are tested. It is shown that DNANB and DNACB bonding agent to improve the bonding of composite solid propellant interface conditions, Improved and the HTPB propellant adhesive nature of the interface between the solid particles, is to improve the mechanical properties of solid propellants.
