Dynamic Consolidation Method(DCM)is initiated in Menard Technical Company. French,1969. Its working principle is to make at a given distance the heavy hammerfalls licedown to the foundation where the impacts and vibration arc formed to makethe powerfulstress wave, cause the variation of internal stress in soil mass and pressure of void water,etc. and achieve the improvement of foundation strength. This method has the merits of remarkable cf(ect for strengthening, simple equipment for construction, fast constructionand less construction cost, etc. so it has been widely used. At present, most of the studies on this Dynamic Consolidation technique at home and abroad are mainly centralized for use of great energy level-heavy tamping technique and saturated soft soil complex foundation while for less use of block stone-fill foundation in the mountain area, so a further study in this aspects is necessary.In regard to DCM, its theory and experiment got far behind with its engineering practice .In fact ,the job practice seems that it is simple,but covered up the complexity of reinforcement mechanism.A lot of scholars tried to build up a perfect numeric mode to imitate the tamping ,but failed. Actually ,it is impossible to imitate the tamping process accurately through the complicated theoretical derivation, because of the difficult accurate assurance of the mathematics mode for the calculation in the finite element analysis and the parameter and boundary problem. It is clear that the focal point for DCM study is the qualitative method,rather than the quantitative method.This paper discussed the typic constitutive mode for DCM and analysed the simulation for DCM by dynamic analysis, deepening to the actuation duration and stress form in DCM. At the same time ,this paper has gone deeply into study on the construction parameter,settlement mechanics,test method in the block stone-fill foundation and the environment effects in DCM on basis of typic engneering in Chongqing. It also summaried the technological process of DCM based on the coherent engineering.Through such study, the heavy tamping foundation treatment technique has been supplemented and consummated or improved.
