Study On The Classification And Optimization Of Urban Function Of 3+5 Urban Agglomeration In Hunan Province

City is the result through the course of time. It always developsunceasingly along with human social development. With the developmentof economic integration globally, informationalization and knowledgeeconomy, our country has entered a new era with fast economicdevelopment and profound structural changes. Under such circumstances,cities will get new opportunities. Based on the analysis and summary ofsome scholars' research, the paper discusses the methods of urbanfunctional classification, establishes the system frame of urban functionalstructure and puts forward the development patterns and strategies ofurban function to try to solve the existing problems within 3+5 urbanagglomeration.The paper is divided into five chapters.In the first part of the paper is the exordium. The author introducesthe development process of the study on urban functional classification athome and abroad in detail.In the second part, the author narrates the theoretic frame of urbanfunctional classification. It contains Megalopolis Theory and IntergrowthTheory. And also the author introduces four urban functionalclassification methods.The third part of the paper is the analysis of the forming mechanismof urban function. The author analyses its forming mechanism fromnatural, socio-economic and administrative factors respectively. Naturalfactor is the basic condition of the forming mechanism of urban functionstructure, socio-economic factor the necessary condition andadministrative factor the limited condition.The fourth part of the paper is the key part. Based on the analysis ofnatural environment, economic situation, location condition and urbansystem within 3+5 urban agglomeration region, the author constructs theindex system of urban functional classification and combines Kohonennetwork model with urban economy foundation method. According to theresults of two methods, the eight cities within 3+5 urban agglomeration are classified as four types: Changsha city as the first type, Zhuzhou cityas the second type, Xiangtan city and Loudi city as the third type, theother four cities of Changde, Yiyang, Yueyang and Hengyang as thefourth type.Development pattern of urban function and several strategies areposed in the last part of the paper. They are based on the questions andweaknesses of urban function of 3+5 urban agglomeration.
