Recently, the continuum topology optimization has become a difficult and hot spot topic in the field of structure optimization, which is in the conception design phase of the structure optimization, and whose results make the complicated structure optimization initially. Nowadays, there are few application samples of the topology optimization in the hydro-structure, but with the development and improvement of the topology optimization theory, the condition of applying topology optimization to engineering practice is mature gradually. After reading numbers of foreign documents and domestic relative papers, based on the theory and method of the continuum topology optimization, a series of suggestion and methods were put forward for the structure optimization design of the arciform aqueducts system. In this paper the chief research and work were as follows:1 The continuum optimization was studied deeply, and the mathematical models of topology optimization in homogenization method, variable-density method and variable-thickness method were discussed and analyzed, besides, their advantages and disadvantages were compared and discussed in detail.2 According to the specific situation of the hydro-structure, based on the APDL in finite element analysis software of ANSYS, a topology optimization program was exploited ; And the variable-density topology optimization method of OPTISTRUCT in HYPERWORK was used to design the hydro-structure.3 By using the topology optimization program , the arciform aqueducts system optimization design was attempted bravely. Taken the Qiling aqueduct in the DongShen rebuilding engineering of water supply as an example, the topology optimization of arciform aqueducts arch axes was carred out. Compared the results with the ones derived from traditional design methods, the feasibility and superiority of the topology optimization was made known. And then a satisfied result was gained from the size optimization of the arch.4 The discharge capability of the section and structural stress state were compared between the U-type aqueducts and rectangular aqueducts, In order to control the crack resulted from the tension stress, the variable-density method was applied to topology optimization in the beam under the slot bottom board, and the beam was designed by the topology optimization theory of narrow structure. And finally the feasibility and superiority of the topology optimization were proved by stress analysis of the derived beam.
