Qinshan Phaseâ…¢is the first Canadian CANDU6 type PHWR project in P.R China, consisting of two 728 MW units.Because the nuclear detectors of nuclear power measurement system provide the timely and exact signal to special safety systems and power regulating system, the importance of nuclear detectors is obvious.In the world, the number of PHWR project is less than the PWR project, Qinshan CANDU Unit is solely operating in P.R China, the relevant industry of PHWR has not been established completely and nuclear power detecting equipment is mainly depending on the importation. As a result, Self-development research of nuclear detectors can give the good comments on latter manufacture of nuclear detectors by improving the capacity of nuclear equipment manufacture, training the technicians and saving the budget. This paper is including three scopes of research works as follows:1. On the basis of the detailed analysis of the trend of the nuclear power industry development, combined with the capacity of nuclear detectors manufacture in China , the vanadium detectors are firstly chosen to be self-developed.2. On the basis of the analysis for nuclear detecting equipment applying to the local nuclear power plants, relevant theories obtained support the vanadium detector self-development.3. On the basis of the research for the theory and principle of the nuclear detectors, absorbing the technical request of the foreign products, the technical request, detailed design and design blue fit for China industry could be presented to resolve the core problems including the detector production standard and cracking of vanadium, etc. Finally, the nuclear detectors could be self-developed.The self-research and self-development of vanadium detectors provide the stable foundation for of the further self-development of the self-power detectors, and such self-development implement could boost the technical level of the other relevant industries.
