| Reuse of the waste tires in highway engineering is very important for reducing pollution, protecting environment and resources. At present, the rubber chippings from waste tire have been widely used in construction and maintenance of asphalt concrete road surface in America. This paper mainly studies the mechanical properties of the cement stabilized macadam with rubber particles, which include unconfined compressive strength, modulus of resilience, splitting tensile strength, frost resistance and drying shrinkage, and does research on the influence factors including rubber particle adding amount and size, cement dosage and coagulate time. Some points have been drawn out as follow.1.After adding rubber particles, the unconfined compressive strength, the splitting tensile strength and the modulus of compressive resilience of mixtures decrease. Because of the difference of modes of receiving force, the decline rate of the splitting tensile strength is smaller than the unconfined compressive strength. By the comparative trials, it is known the stability coefficient in freezing state of the cement stabilized macadam with rubber particles is higher than that without rubber particles.2.The paper also studies the drying shrinkage of the cement stabilized macadam. Through the drying shrinkage experiment we get the conclusion that the drying shrinkage of cement stabilized macadam with rubber particles evidently decreases and slowly grows, which is beneficial for decelerating the crack.3.By calculating the stress of structural layers through the highway pavement design system, the paper studies the influence of the thickness and compressive resilient modulus of the cement stabilized base, the thickness and the different layers of the cement stabilized base with rubber particles on the stress of structural layers, and analyses the major and minor factors through the orthogonal test method. It draws a conclusion through analyses: it is suitable when modulus of cement stabilized macadam base is about 1000MPa and thickness of that is about 30cm in number one mode of pavement structure. |
