Switched Reluctance Motor (SR) is a new-type drived-electromotor system which develops rapidly since 1980.The structure of the SRD is simple. It has a wide range and excellent performance in speed. It also has a high efficiency and high reliability. So the SRD is one of the hot spots which is studied and designed all over the world. However the competence of SRM used as a novel DC generation system can not be neglected.This article primarily introduces the structure of Switched Reluctance Drive (SRD) system and its development at home and abroad. The characteristic of Switched Reluctance Motor (SRM) and its electro-magnetic principle were described in details. The variation of SRM winding current in different stage and the formula of toque and power were also analyzed in it.In this paper, a pure-hardware controlled Switched Reluctance Motor/Generator (SRM/G) drive system applied in golf vehicle is presented. A 1KW rated 6/4 SRM is applied as convertor between mechanistic energy and electric energy. The pure-hardware digital controller is implemented by using an EP1K30TC144-3 CPLD (complex programmable logic device) and other circuits, with which the integrative motor/generator could be implemented in golf vehicle.Pass above brief introduction of the SRM and the introduction of its characteristic, take the CPLD spare part EP1 K30 TC144-3 as foundation, designed angle position to regulate electric circuit, with outer circle, it can carry out the control to the SRM.A control strategy is adopted by selecting Chopping Current Control (CCC) mode when motoring under low speed, Angle Position Control(APC) mode when motoring at high speed, and fixed-angle CCC mode when braking as generator, respectively. Principles of each mode are described in detail. Pass the GW48 series experiment development of the SOC/SOPC plank system with 6/4 mutually of the SRM start experiment.The experimental results show that the system proposed is feasible and its performance is well by using the pure-hardware controller based on CPLD.
