With the development of research of concrete-filled steel tubular structure, this kind of structure has been widely applied in construction. The joint is the key issue of application of concrete-filled steel tubular structure. But in fact, now the research level of the joint of CFST lays behind its application. Because of the diversity of the joint with ring stiffeners, the application of CFST is not so mature. The thesis is based on a practical project of Assembling Workshop of Naval Ships and Boats Supporting Product Production Line in Wuhan Marine Machinery plant co. ltd. Based on the theoretical analysis, we study the mechanical properties of this kind of joint under normal service condition.Grounded on the theoretical analysis, we make use of ANSYS to conduct the finite element analysis of the joint with solid modeling. The constitutive model of steel and concrete and the slippage between steel tube and concrete have been analyzed. The stress-strain curve of the steel is assumed to be elastic-perfectly plastic. The constitutive model of the concrete is more complicated, because the steel tube provide the confinement to the core concrete and then the concrete is subjected to triaxial compressive stresses. According to the former study, this paper inducts the stress-strain relationship model of the core concrete given by professor Han Linhai. The failure rule of the concrete is William-Warnke' five parameter rule. The slippage of steel tube and concrete is not considered. The figures of stress distribution of the steel tube, stiffen rings and the concrete are showed in the paper. They display the deformation situation and weak areas of the joint. After analysis, the joint is still in elastic situation under normal work condition. And the results suggest that the model and the results of design is rational. The research results supplement the deficiency of study of CFST joints to some extent and provide some references to the relative study and design staff.
