Study On The Influence Of Environment Factors On Silt-trap Dam Construction

Silt-trap dam is engineering that is used for blocking sediment and farming in every level of channel in the regions of soil erosion and water loss.Silt-trap dam construction has important significance in speeding step to control soil erosion in loess plateau, reducing sediment that flows into the Yellow River, improving ecological environment, realizing economic and social sustainable development and insuring safety of the Yellow River.It has obtained much more progress in silt-trap dam construction since China was established. But until now, many important problems and key techniques need to be studied, especially the influence of environment factors on dams system construction, still lacks of systematic research.This paper was based on the results of former studies, obeyed rule of combination of qualitative and quantitative, macroscopic and microscopic analysis,and used geography, hydrology and erosion dynamics etc. Main factors were selected firstly, and then influence of properties of channel and hydrological sediment on the silt-trap dam construction in small watershed was analyzed. The study area was located in sediment-laden and coarse sand area, mid-stream of the Yellow River. The main and restrict environment factors that affect silt-trap dam construction in the area were analyzed with quantitative method of GIS.The results of the study are following:1. Main environment factors were selected from complicated factors.The influence of environment factors on silt-trap dam construction in small watershed were discussed. The whole theoretic system was established.2. The relationship between properties of channel and silt-trap dam construction was analyzed. The max channel gradient adapted to build dam was discussed. 3. The main and restrict factors that affect silt-trap dams construction in this region were analyzed. The problems of silt-trap dam construction in the area were discussed,and some suggestions to solve them were proposed.The paper analyzed the influence of environment factors on silt-trap dam construction from geographical view. It has some innovations in theories and research methods, which can provide certain references to related research;This paper also studied max channel gradient adapted to build dam. It not only has theoric significance, but also can provide certain scientific basis for dams system planning and designing; The paper analyzed environment factors that influence silt-trap dam construction in sediment-laden and coarse sand area, found out spatial difference in silt-trap dam construction and put forward suggestions to management of the region.The results of the study have important actual significance.
