Permanent magnet liner synchronous motor has been attented by more and more people,because of good dynamic performance and dependability. With applied extensively, permanent magnet liner synchronous motor is asked for dynamic performance. The main factor is thrust ripple of permanent magnet liner synchronous motor. This paper analyses the ficld and thrust characteristic of permanent magnet liner synchronous motor by finite element analysis.According to principle and structure of permanent magnet liner synchronous motor ,this paper analyses ficld by Ansoft software. Magnetic flux, magnetic density ,gap and harmonic distribution are consisted of two results.Thrust characteristic is analysesed.Thrust curves of no-loaded and on-loaded are gained by time-stepping FEM from start to steady-state.This paper analyses thrust ripple principia, adopts Halbach array and the principle ofHalbach array. The structure and magnetized distribution of Halbach array are analyzed. The suited structure and magnetized distribution have been confirmed in a permanent magnet liner synchronous motor. The thrust characteristic are compared with different magnetized distributions of liner synchronous motors. The results present that the permanent magnet liner synchronous motor with Halbach array can improve the magnetized distribution, enhance the thrust of motor and reduce the thrust ripple. So Halbach array permanent magnet liner synchronous motor is prior to the normal array one.
