In recent years, FRP(fiber-reinforced polymer) has been widely utilized for strengthening con concrete structures due to its high tensile property. FRP has attracted much attention by the civil and construction industry since it is considered as a new type of high performance structural material. Many research works and actual applications of FRP to civil structures were carried out by both domestic and international organizations. In this paper, an introduction is given on the properties and different forms of FRP frequently used for structural material, as well as its merit and deficiency. In this paper a large number of test data of reinforced concrete columns was collected through comparing and analyzing the models ,based on the actual instance, the unit style, material model, convergent criterion, load step and boundary condition, which are chosen reasonably, using the Solid65 element, the corresponding constitutive relation, and destroy criterion and combining the other elements in ANSYS. A preferable analysis result can be abtained. Finally, we discuss some factors which may affect the stability factor .The corresponding result is indicated: stabilization coefficient rests with section shape and restriction ratioξto the same slender ratio of FRP restriction concrete on the same condition. Stabilization coefficient of the calculating formula has been given according to the experiments and the finite element analysis, which may be utilized in structure.
