This thesis introduces the development and main design requirements of guide way of maglev railway in China as well as other developed countries; introduces the main problems faced by the long-line maglev railway beam. The failure mechanism of planting bar system, main failure modes, and calculation methods of bearing capacity are analyzed. Advantages of planting bar system are discussed; innovative project of integral prestressed concrete beam is advanced for solving main problems faced by long-line maglev beams. The new form of maglev beam is cast to complete in twice and adopts connectors of planting bars (HIT-HY150 planting bar system). In the experiment, a segment of beam with scale of 1:1 is used to carry out static load test, fatigue test, and crack test. The structural behavior and performance under those three working conditions are analyzed. Glue HY150 is used at one side of the maglev beam to adhere concrete and planting bars; the other side uses sulphur mortar. The different structural behaviors and performances of two sides under three working conditions are compared and analyzed. For the shear connector, the theoretical and spatial finite element calculation is carried out. The experimental and theoretical results are compared and analyzed.Further the thesis introduces the development of perfobond strip that is a relative new shear connector; describes the composing form and stress characters of perfobond strip. The failure mechanism, failure modes, and shear capacity of perfobond strip are analyzed. Perfobond strip is compared with other kinds of shear connectors to demonstrate the advantages in the structural performance, construction, and transportation. A new design that uses perfobond strip as the shear connector of maglev beam is advanced. The theoretical calculation of shear capacity and spatial finite element are carried out for evaluating the feasibility of the new design.
