The vector hydrophone is combined by omnidirectional pressure hydrophone and independent on frequency band and natural dipole particle velocity hydrophone, which co-locating and simultaneously measures pressure and particle velocity; it can estimate the direction of space. In this thesis, several methods of azimuth angle estimation are discussed on acoustic intensity and spatial filter, which is based on signle vector hydrophone. The comparison between these methods is done. First, these methods are introduced. The decomposition of sound field is also used for azimuth angle estimation, which combines pressure and velocity. DIFAR processor is also given which acts as a spatial filter. It is pointed that the time-averaged acoustic intensity, which measures the total net flow of acoustic energy at a given point, can be calculated from the DIFAR output autospectrum by averaging the set of vectors. Then the second order processor is devided. At last, beamforming processor is used for the estimation of source location by single vector hydrophone.Because the average acoustic intensity which used in this thesis, can not distinguish several targets, Capon processor is also adopted for the estimation of two source locations.Last, the simulations for the DIFAR processor, intensity processor and Capon are compared. And the emulating researches on the DOA estimation for the interference of noise, average time, broadband noise and narrowband noise are compared using these methods.
