The article analysis inner-plant the optimization of operation of pumped storage power station first, and under conditions of pump water and with some optimization methods. In the optimization model, minimized sum of losses caused by electric power shortage and total generating costs of units is taken as objective function, the storage volume and water revel of the reservoir, daily balances of electric power and energy as constraint conditions, besides, the effects of stochastic outage of pumped storage power units in generating or pumping mode are considered. Considering the sum of units and power, established two different pump water sub-models which are based on the equivalent energy function approach and probability simulation algorithm. Feasibility of the proposed sub-models is verified by case studies and the differences of the results. The article also discusses static benefit and dynamic benefit of the pumped storage power station, the algorithm calculates dynamic benefits under different dynamic functions.
