Automatic Tape Laying (ATL) is widely applied for fabricating the composite material component of aeronautical vehicle and aerospace crafts. But the study of ATL is at the beginning in China and the studying level of is relative low. This thesis applies the"nature paths"which is the key for trajectory planning of ATL. An algorithm of the"nature paths"has been designed, and realized by programming. At last, a system of software has been primarily developed.The innovations in this thesis are as follows. Firstly, a new algorithm of"nature paths"was designed based on the geodesic reference frame. Geodesic lines have been particularly researched. The geodesic numerical value solution has been carried out. The function selected uses an arc parameter; this method predigests the conversion of the data. Secondly, by using the optimization, a new algorithm of the geodesic lines between two points has been designed. This algorithm which predigests the complex problems is easy to use in software development. Finally, by mixing the MATLAB and the VC++, a module of getting values from the cured faces has been made. It can not only validate the samples, but also interface with other CAD software in future.This algorithm has been proved by the answers and figures of the sample. By calculating the clearance and the overcast between two nature paths, demonstration of this algorithm can been provided.
