Socialistic market-economy system has been built up in China with its innovation and opening. Great changes have taken place in city's environment of commercial space, and the construction of commercial building has come into a fresh epoch with rapid development. With the different situations of countries, Shopping center has developed very maturely and commonly in the Occident. But the construction has just started in China. Blind introduce from elsewhere will bring much matter and do much harm to China's city construction.This article is to seek a suitable road, back on the Nanchang local details and after connecting the domestic and foreign outstanding examples, with digestion and absorption, then innovation and sublimation, to build the shopping center in Nanchang city.The paper first carries on the review to the history of compound-commercial shape and points out that shopping activity in city fuses with the city's life before Industrial Revolution. That's to say, shopping activity is compound.Chapter two first clears about the definition and treats of shopping center. Then after making the analysis and estimation to the overseas shopping center development, proposes on the national condition that shopping center development in urban district should use the existing commercial construction with maximum limit. The urban district first must increase the scale and its function of department store, to make it develop towards the comprehensive department store. And transforms the walk business street in commercial center area, with that unites other comprehensive department store, to further for the shopping center.Chapter three describes the correlated factors of the shopping center, then proposes the concept "the compound city life".Chapter four carries on the analysis and induction on the architectural design of shopping center, then proposes as one part of the city environment, the shopping center should take the same step with its economical development on the condition of its own cultural condition. Chapter five analyzes the internal spatial design of shopping center from its internal spatial function, internal spatial constitution, the transportation guidance, and internal spatial organization. Then discusses the building internal spatial environment of the shopping center and proposes the principles of integration and humanness to design the internal spatial environment.Chapter six studies the Nanchang shopping center and summarizes the domestic and foreign outstanding experiences then proposes the goal to design the compound disposition from the two aspects of urban environment fusion and humanness room layout.
