Design for blasting demolition has always been an important part of the blasting project. It is a kind of job of great importance and complexity. Design for blasting demolition has been done by handwork for a long time and depended on designer's experience and knowledge mainly. So it will bring about major randomness and blindness, and the design instruction booklet also often doesn't have the unification on form; moreover, the traditional manual design method also has the efficiency low, consumes when much, the design work load is big and so on the shortcoming. Therefore, with the aid of the computer-aided design theory, establishes the blasting demolition intelligence design system is very imperative.The chimney demolition is a type which in the actual demolition project often meets. Because the present chimney blasting demolition theory merely involve the circle section chimney, square section chimney in the actual project haven't detailed instruction. Therefore it's very urgent to establish a set of complete computer-aided design system for blasting demolition of chimneys.This paper is precisely embarks from above two aspects. First analyzes and summarizes the current research progress of each kind of section chimney controlled blasting theory; second establishes the corresponding model, using the Access Database as well as the Visual Basic language to develop the design system of chimney blasting demolition and realize the computer design of chimney blasting demolition.Application results show the system is correct and reliable, meets the design request. It suits the teaching and scientific research activity and the project design of chimney blasting demolition.
