The paper summarizes extensive used limiting equilibrium theory , analyses several implementation methods of finite element method(FEM) and the ways that how to get the safety modulus of the slope , discuss the theory of the valid stress of the fast fall of the water level and the theory of earthquake of the FEM, it offers the theory basis in imitating different conditions of the slope. In consideration of ascension of the reservoir water level would to bring buoyancy to the rock of the ascension, soften the rock , lower the strength of the rock ; The fast fall in the water level of the station would bring the water pressure to the rock of the station , then it will bring the bad influence to the stability of the station. It is necessaried to calculate different rules of the stress , displacement and the situations of the slope. This paper made use of limiting equilibrium theory to analyze the stress state and transformation state of a slope of the HuiZhou hydropower station.make the sensitivity analysis to the modulus in the calculation. Because every kind of stability analysis method based on limiting equilibrium theory can not consider the relation of stress state in rock, the breaking process of the slope and the influence of distortion to the slope, this paper use the theory of FEM to analyze the stability of the slope, where get the branched rules of the stress and displacement of the slope, also according the theory of the FEM the paper can get the safety modulus and analysis situations of slope stability in different conditions.
