| The thesis is aimed at promoting the urban landscape planning in the area holding mega-events. The thesis involves a case study of Qinhuangdao city and all kinds of researching methods, such as documents and data, expert consultation, field survey, Internet searching and analysis, case study, deduction and comparison.It is also a theoretical and practical exploration of the interactive relationship between mega-events and urban landscape planning, together to probe a way of sustainable development of today's urban landscape planning of China.The thesis begins with a comprehensive retrospection and explanation of the general development and detailed features of events at home and abroad. Olympic games and the World Expo are taken as important selections, combined with domestic and international typical cases for further study. Both positive and negative effects are drawed in this part, which provides theoretical basis for further case study. In addition, take Qinhuangdao as an example, a comprehensive evaluation and systematic illustration was given to Qinhuangdao urban landscape planning under the influence of mega-events based on the the synthetical study of the relative advantages and present situation of events in Qinhuangdao, covering general landscape features, urban gardens and greenery, inner city construction and new area development, the night scene in modern cities etc.Drawing a conclude of three primary stages in the developing modern city landscape planning of Qinhuangdao, and at the same time, predicts the negative effects from mega-events as well as relevant countermeasures, and a series of discussions and reflections on urban landscape planning are made with the direction at Qinhuangdao, an assisting city of Beijing Olympic Games in 2008. |
