PDM and ERP are the two major technological support for the manufacturing enterprises to enhance their competitive power. The information integration between PDM and ERP systems are critical to CIMS implementation successful. The information integration can not only do great benefit to quick and accurate information transmission but also accelerate the transform from design to manufacturing, promote the harmony between the engineering and the manufacturing department and enhance the core competitive power of the whole enterprise.In this thesis, the integration of ERP and PDM is mostly analyzed and studied in detail and depth. The characteristic, relation, integrating status, integrating contents and integrating extent are analyzed respectively. Their integrating model and structure are also analyzed and compared. BOM, integrating core, can be stored at different systems with different data model. BOM in integration and data structure of EBOM/MBOM are introduced, design of correlative data structure is accomplished and compound mapping algorithm is proposed. Middle database strategy is adopted, which can be considered as a bridge by the third database to transform quickly by using interconnection techniques of heterogeneous database. Combining with the application of the enterprise, the integration of PDM and ERP is implemented with middle file exchange and middle database. The characteristics of the integration model are shown as follows:1) Practicability: Middle database can ensure primary investment of enterprise because of using enterprise current database. Development environment and tool, such as JDK, tomcat and connecting pool, are not only free but also independent of platform. So it has better economy and the features of platform-independent.2) Asynchronism: Middle file exchange can not only make up the flaw of bottom data integration, but also keep physical independent when complicated files exchange and field mapping.3) Real-time character: Multithreading of Java combining with database triggers ensures monitor mechanism for the update of the data and parallel accomplishment of data acquisition. Real-time requirement is achieved in some content.At last the thesis validates the practicality and effectiveness of the integrated model and the developed system by the application in a manufacturing enterprise.
